Squid 1/2 kg
Onion 1
Fenugreek powder 1/4 tsp
Ginger chopped 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Green chillies 4
Fish tamarind (kudam puli) 2
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves a few
Coconut grated 1 cup
Oil 3 tbsp
Salt to taste


Cut Squid into very small pieces. Slice onion and green chillies lengthwise. Heat oil in a pan and fry onions green chillies and ginger. Add salt to taste. Add coconut, chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric, fish tamarind and fenugreek powder and mix well. Add squid and curry leaves and mix well. Let it cook until done with most of the water evaporated.

Tips of the day
While make any deep fried dish, if the hot oil starts foaming and rises in the pan, add a small piece of tamarind to the oil to prevent foaming and spill over.
