Ingredients

Koorka 2 cups

Oil 1 tsp

Mustard seeds 1 tsp

Urad dhal 2 tsp

Dry red chillies 3

Curry leaves a few
Finely chopped onion 1/4 cup

Green chillies 2

Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

Grated coconut 1/2 cup

Salt to taste


Directions

Wash and clean koorka boil with skin in a pressure cooker, with enough water to cover. Then peel and mash into lumps.

Heat oil in vessel. Fry mustard, urad dhal, red chillies cut in to 3/4 pieces and curry leaves. When it is done, add the chopped onion, green chillies and turmeric and saute well. As soon as it is seasoned, stir in the prepared koorka. Saute for a little while. Add the grated coconut and salt. Stir well, without breaking the koorka pieces. Toss once or twice and remove. Serve hot.

Tips of the day
Leftover chappathies can be cut into small diamond shaped pieces with a pair of kitchen scissors and deep fried till golden brown. Store in air-tight containers.
